Book review : Chankya Neeti
Genre- historical nonfiction
Rating-5/5
Vishnu Gupta, popularly known as Chanakya, was a scholar in Economics and Political Science who taught as a professor at Takshashila University. He was the chief advisor to King Chandragupta Maurya and played a crucial role in the establishment of the Mauryan empire.
This book, written by him, comprises neetis and sutras. While the neetis aim at the cultivation of virtues and wisdom, the sutras contain the rules for enterprise and life management.
Chanakya Neeti is a discourse on the ideal way of life and shows Chanakya's deep understanding of people and society. Some of these are extremely powerful strategies that one can employ in order to live an orderly and planned life.
Chanakya used these sutras to train Chandragupta and other selected disciples in the art of ruling a kingdom. To this day, the teachings continue to be as relevant as ever.
Arthashastra describes the person's way of living, relationships, finance, loans...
